Kindergarten Field Trip

Remember how we went on Daniel's field trip with him to the corn maze?  Well, yesterday it was Lily's turn to go.  We had a ball...again.  Lily was so excited we came with her!  I dread the days when the kids will be embarrassed to have us tag along on their school functions.  I keep holding on to hope that it will never happen...I mean there are some middle and high school kids that aren't embarrassed by their parents, right?  And I mean, hey...when you've got parents like us...what's to be embarrassed about ya know? (You don't have to answer that). :)  ANYWAY...on with the field trip.  Lily has a sweet little friend named Shyanna (I probably butchered the spelling of her sweet name) who has glasses just like her!  Her parents didn't get to come, so she hung out with us the whole day.  These two seem like 2 peas in a pod....and can I also say...I didn't realize it was possible for a little girl to be more petite than Lily...well it is...
Lily and Austin on the bike track...

The three of them on the swing.  They played really well with Austin too, which was sweet and cute...
 Duck Races!...
Daddy and Austin sporting their Brazil-wear.  (Are you reading Airton??).  Also...this is Austin's favorite shirt.  The people at church often ask me if he even has any other shirts.  We may as well not.  If it wasn't for his adorable face when he sees that shirt come out of the wash (even though it is so stained it never looks washed)..I think I may throw it away (no offense Airton) :)
Ok so continuing with the field trip....one of the girls in Lily's class found a caterpillar and let Austin hold it for a minute.  He loves holding worms and caterpillars...
It was such a fun day!  We did the hay ride, the playground, the bike track, the corn maze, and saw all the animals.  Lily also (like Daniel) didn't want to have anything to do with milking the cow.  She did however love feeding the sheep and baby cows.  It was such a fun day.  I am so thankful that we've gotten to go on these field trips with our kids!  (And btw...I mentioned in the post about Daniel's that I hoped we'd have warmer weather at Lily's...well we did!  It was a beautiful day).  And I'm also thankful that this little smiling angel was so good all day!!
It really was a great day!!

First Grade Field Trip

Today Daniel's first grade class went on a field trip to the corn maze.  Originally just Jason was going to go with him, but this morning me and the boys decided we were going to join them as well (since we were allowed to go).  I am so glad we went!  It was a pretty windy, making it really chilly, but we bundled up little Peyton in some warm clothes and stuck him in the baby backpack with a blanket around him and he was snug as a bug in a rug!  I think he was the warmest one!  Anyway...we had so much fun getting to go with Daniel and his class!  First, we saw all the animals.  Check out this big ole' fat cow!
The picture didn't truly capture it's big-ness.  I think the highlight of seeing the cows was when they pooped or peed...as you can imagine, the first graders thought that was pretty hilarious.  Some of the kids got to milk the cows, but Daniel didn't want to.  They liked feeding the sheep the hay...Daniel especially liked to throw the hay on the sheep...

They also had a little playground and these water duck races...
And these little bikes and some tractors that raced around a track.  Austin absolutely loved these bikes.  During playground time he kept disappearing...and I'd always find him here...
Daddy and his boys (plus another first grader)...
After we played on the playground we got to ride on a hayride, eat lunch, and then go through the corn maze.  I was too cold and squished to take pictures on the hay ride.  And I really don't know why I didn't get pictures during the corn maze.  But anyway...all in all it was a super fun day.  And certainly a change in scenery for me and the two little boys!  Lily's class will come in a few weeks so we are looking forward to that....and also hoping for an unseasonably warm day that day!  Happy Fall Y'all!

Our House

Well it looks like today is finally blog catch-up day.  Its been a long time coming.  Anyway...I wanted to share some pics of the church parsonage that we just moved into.  I haven't gotten to pick out paint colors and such for a long time...really since Jason and I got married and we painted our first church parsonage over 8 years ago.  So needless to say, I had a lot of fun picking out colors again; and I chose a couple of colors I have never done before and have been really pleased!  So anyway, without further ado...here's our house!
The Kitchen...

The Dining Room (followed by the Living Room...and then the Downstairs Bath)....

(Sorry...some of the pics downloaded on here so close that I couldn't get any text between them).
The Playroom...
 The Upstairs Bath...
 Peyton's Room (and below...Lily's Room)...

 The Boy's Room...
 And Jason and I's Room....
And that's our house!  I was going to put "little" house...but its really not little at all!  We also have a full basement which is where we do the laundry and where we can store everything.  I really like our house!

Lily's Birthday Party

Lily's birthday party....really?  Yup...it is October and I am just now putting pictures on here of my baby girl's 5th birthday party.  You read the post about what my life has been like since June right?  Still...no excuses; I really want to get better, but for now...here is Lily's June birthday....
We got her a bigger bike for her birthday...one that she could start learning to ride without training wheels.  I was so excited about this bike...it has all the princesses, a carriage on the front to put her baby doll in, a bell, flower pedals, streamers coming from the handle bars...you name it.  It is the perfect bike for our little princess...
She didn't know what to think when we had her walk in the house to find it...
She wanted to have her birthday party at the park; so that's what we did!  This park has a lake right beside it, so the kids took a little break from playing to stick their feet in.  Eventually most of them ended up swimming around in it in their clothes...(except Lily of course...she is not one to get her clothes wet).
 Playground fun...

 Time for cake!

 And now for presents!

I think the birthday girl enjoyed herself!
It was a fun party!  Lily, I can't believe you are 5!  We are so proud of the little girl you are becoming!  You are so beautiful and smart; and are such a girlie girl!  You will always be our little Princess Wiggle Pickle!  We love you soooo much and can't wait to watch you grow and make even more sweet memories with you!  :)

One Month Old

Well, our little Peyton was one month old on Saturday.  I cannot believe a whole month has already gone by!  I was pretty sick on Saturday, so I didn't work hard on getting perfect pics...nor did I put him in a cute outfit....but lets be honest...the child is still pretty adorable.  I'm not biased or anything though.
Here's a little bit about Peyton at one month:
-At his one month check-up, he weighed 9lbs 10oz!  He's really growing!!
-He does not like being cold.  When he was first born, he always cried when I changed his diaper and hated his little sponge baths.  Now that he can sit in the bath water he likes the bath, but hates getting out.  He does a little better with diaper changes unless it's chilly in the room.
-He likes to be sitting up or laying up on your shoulder.
-He likes his pacifier ok; but the other day Jason said he found his thumb once...so we'll see if that becomes something.
-He loves being swaddled.
-He hates evenings....at least it seems that way since he cries most evenings through dinner or bed time routines for the other 3.
-He loves having his bottom patted.
-Although he's not yet on the same schedule everyday (meaning he doesn't always eat at the same time every day), he's on pretty regular 3 hour eating schedule with usually one 4-5 hour stretch at night.

We are really enjoying our little boy.  I really am.  I never want to put him down...I'm kinda developing a bad habit maybe, but I keep telling myself that he's only a month old and its ok that he falls asleep in my arms sometimes too....that can be a good thing, right? :)  Happy One Month Baby Peyton!

P.S. Here's a 3 week pic...
And a two week pic...
...just to show you how much he's grown!  :)

First Day of School

Monday August 27th was the first day of school here in Garrett County.  However, Daniel had an important doctor's appointment that day and kindergarten phases in the first 3 days of school.  So both kids first day ended up being Tuesday the 28th.  I just can't believe this little boy is in FIRST grade...
And that this little girl is in KINDERGARTEN...
I was really nervous about Lily starting, because on orientation day she all the sudden clammed up and got really shy.  She clung to Jason like glue!  She did warm up after awhile, but it still made me really nervous that she was going to cry when we had to drop her off and she would have to stay without us.  But...she actually did great!  Her second week was a little bit of an adjustment (it also could have had to do with the fact that we had just had a new baby and my family had just left)...but now she comes home every day talking about how much she loves school.  She says its the best place EVER!  Daniel really likes school too...the work of first grade was an adjustment for him at first, but he seems like he's used to it now!  I miss them while they're at school all day, but its so fun hearing about all the new things they learned at school!  They are getting so big and smart! :)
