Movie Party Night

Well, movie party night is underway at the Heath household!  Yesterday while we were at Walmart, Jason let each of the kids pick out a movie...
We watched Scooby Doo this afternoon, Brave while we were waiting for dinner, and now are watching the Avengers (might I add, that Daniel is sssuuuuper stoked he's getting to watch the REAL Avengers...Jason previewed it and said he could see this one).  The kids LOVE when we have parties together!  We ordered in a pizza...
And Jason got some goodies from across the street.  It may be a little overboard, but hey...you don't have movie party night every night!  AND...I'd be lying if I didn't say the parents are most definitely enjoying the treats as well...(especially the mommy)!
Jason and I will occasionally treat ourselves to the bottled root beer...its so much better than any other kind.  Often times the kids ask for them and usually, (b/c they are expensive, they never drink the whole thing, and b/c I get stingy with my treats), we say no.  So tonight, for movie party night...root beer was on the list....as well as chips and salsa, and a boat load of candy.  :)
They are so excited!  Peyton is especially enjoying himself...
Such a doll.  All of them are!  I love my little kids and our sweet family!  Ok, now back to the movie!  Iron Man and Thor are fighting...what's up with that?  I've gotta catch up...but that's ok...Jason loves it when I ask a bunch of questions during a movie. :)  Good night all!

Lily's Birthday Party

Lily's birthday party....really?  Yup...it is October and I am just now putting pictures on here of my baby girl's 5th birthday party.  You read the post about what my life has been like since June right?  Still...no excuses; I really want to get better, but for now...here is Lily's June birthday....
We got her a bigger bike for her birthday...one that she could start learning to ride without training wheels.  I was so excited about this bike...it has all the princesses, a carriage on the front to put her baby doll in, a bell, flower pedals, streamers coming from the handle bars...you name it.  It is the perfect bike for our little princess...
She didn't know what to think when we had her walk in the house to find it...
She wanted to have her birthday party at the park; so that's what we did!  This park has a lake right beside it, so the kids took a little break from playing to stick their feet in.  Eventually most of them ended up swimming around in it in their clothes...(except Lily of course...she is not one to get her clothes wet).
 Playground fun...

 Time for cake!

 And now for presents!

I think the birthday girl enjoyed herself!
It was a fun party!  Lily, I can't believe you are 5!  We are so proud of the little girl you are becoming!  You are so beautiful and smart; and are such a girlie girl!  You will always be our little Princess Wiggle Pickle!  We love you soooo much and can't wait to watch you grow and make even more sweet memories with you!  :)

Family Fun Festival

Yesterday Jason left for DC with a group from our church to attend a building seminar. He won't be back until this evening. So it's been just me and the kiddos for 2 days. We did have a pull-out couch party last night, but it wasn't quite as lively as some of our other ones have been. I was tired! But we did make cookie popsicles and watch movies on the pull-out. The kids went to bed around 11pm and woke up around 7:30am. Then this morning there was a Family Fun Festival at Daniel's school. We will be resting this afternoon. :) The festival was a lot of fun....and best of all it was COMPLETELY free!! They even fed us pizza, icecream, and cake! Of course we drove up only to see this right at the entrance....
I really didn't know if we'd make it to anything else. But eventually we did. They had a little station set up for the kids to pet a turtle and a frog...
They had lots of different stations set up where kids could color different things....
They had different stations for the kids to play with toys...
And they had games the kids could play to win prizes...
This was another petting zoo like station. They had a little lamb, little ducklings, and little 3 day old pigs. Here's Daniel petting the little baby pig...
Then we sat down to eat some pizza...
And of course cake and icecream followed...
Here they are at a little playdough station...
There were so many other things the kids got to make, but I of course didn't get a picture of everything. Austin as always was into everything. One of the things the kids made was a mouthful of teeth and a toothbrush out of baby marshmallows. Austin dumped out all the marshmallows.....and dug his hands in the little stick on letters the kids were using to write their names on the toothbrushes. He really was pretty good most of the time, but towards the end he got a little bored and resorted to these kind of acts for entertainment I'm assuming. It was a lot of fun watching the kids. And of course we came home with 3 bags full of things they made and colored and prizes they won. Fun day...and again FREE! I was very pleased. It was a great way to entertain the kiddos especially while Jason was out of town. Ok...so that's all for now. It's time to put an end to the 3 beach balls flying around my living room and take a little nap! :) Happy Saturday!!

Party Hardy!

It seems that we've started a little trend. Everytime one parent is going to be gone for a night, we have a party. Sounds like we are celebrating one of us being gone, but I see it as quite the contrary. It's something fun for us to do to get our mind off missing (in this case) daddy....who was at a youth lock-in. So basically we get lots of junk food (basically the kids pick the menu) and we sleep out on the pull-out couch. Our kids think it is the greatest thing ever. The idea for these parties came from the infamous "No Parents Allowed" parties that Grandmaw used to throw when we lived in Dayton (and I'm sure she will still throw when we go visit...or she visits here). Anyway...at this particular party we decided our main events were going to be making cupcakes and painting. Let me first say...allowing the kids to crack eggs and blend things with the blender goes against everything in my personality. But I am really trying to let loose more and let them get in the kitchen and help (well...at parties anyway). Maybe one day I'll be better about letting them help with dinner on a nightly basis (baby steps). But I will say....I am SO glad I let them do it. They had a BLAST and actually did a really good job for the most part! So here we go...(oh, and warning...this post contains a LOT of pictures). To bake a cake you first need a cake mix...
(I must add that after dumping this in, our innocent little Austin proceeded to stick is hand into the cake mix, grabbed a handful, and tried to eat it....he's always making things more interesting....gotta love him).
Then oil...
And water...
And eggs...

(Isn't it perfect that a cake mix requires 3 eggs? I think so too). Then you need to blend it all together...for about 3 minutes (again...perfect)...

Then, you of course need to lick the utensils you are done with (only two of those...not as perfect)...
Pour the batter into muffin cups...
And then lick the bowl....somehow I don't have a picture of that. So while the cupcakes were baking we painted...
Can you tell what Austin REALLY wanted to do with the paint?
We had gotten some magnets a while back and had never painted them...so we painted those too. Daniel did a really good job on his turtle!
And every girl needs a pink and purple kitty cat magnet...
After we painted we ate M&M's...
And swirly cheese puffs...
I know, I know...pretty bad. Remember we also make the cupcakes (chocolate with chocolate icing). But...I will say, #1...they ate a good dinner before the party, #2...they brushed their teeth after having all their sweets, and #3...granted they had the M&M's and ate every one of those, but they didn't eat a lot of cheetos AND by the time they iced their cupcakes (they had already eaten the other stuff) they only ate about 2 bites of them. PLUS....what's a party if you don't do stuff you normally wouldn't do, right? Right. Ok, so enough of me justifying my cramming my kids full of sugar and junk. Then we pulled out the couch and watched a movie til we fell asleep...
(As you can see, Daniel didn't last very long). And one last sugary treat was left for the next morning...
Donuts. So there you have it...Partytime Heath Style. I can honestly say...even though it required a bit of clean-up...I REALLY enjoyed this time with our kids. (And the clean-up wasn't too bad b/c I did a lot as we went). We really need to have a big party soon with both parents present....that really would be WAY fun (considering Jason and I are so cool). :)

Party Party

Friday was a pretty fun day for us. We've accumulated about a foot of snow over the weekend and that all began falling on Friday (with a little left over from Wednesday). So we decided when Daniel got home from school to play in the snow for awhile....more on that in another post. Then we went to one of our youth's basketball games....getting us home around 9:30pm. Jason was one of the chaperones for our church's first Tween Scene Lock-In (3rd-6th graders), which took place Friday night as well. So he left us after the ball game to go to that. So.....we decided (even though it was already late for our 3 little munchkins)....to have a little party of our own. I made 3 bowls of M&M's and ice-cream (and of course a 4th bowl for me...minus the M&M's)...
And we pulled out the pull-out couch and ate our icecream and watched Curious George 2. AND...slept there all night!!

The kids probably fell asleep around 11ish....and mommy wasn't far behind. As much as I wanted to be squished on the couch with my 3 beautiful babies, I really need my rest these days, so I went on to my bed for the night. However the best "back-fire" was when Austin came to my bed around 3am saying "I'm wet..." I forgot to put a pull-up on our non-night-potty-trained 3-year-old. Awesome. So needless to say, I ran out to the pull-out to check out the scene. The spot wasn't very big thankfully, so I put a towel over the wet area and cleaned and changed Austin and he slept with me the rest of the night; and the other kids were able to stay dry. All in all....it turned out to be a fun night! And an even more fun morning when I heard the TV turn on at 7am. :) Hope all of you had a fun-filled weekend as well!!

Happy Birthday Austin!

Well, my sweet little baby boy turned 3 yesterday. I simply can't believe it. Sometimes it feels like just yesterday he was born. Mostly I just can't believe my youngest child is 3. I don't have a child in diapers....no more cribs...no more baby stuff. Crazy! Where does the time go? Anyway, since we have Thanksgiving...one week later Austin's birthday....Christmas...and 3 days later Daniel's birthday....and we've just moved to a whole new state....we've decided to have wait until January to have a big birthday bash for Daniel and Austin together. However....with that being said...we couldn't just sit around and do nothing on his birthday! So we decided to let him pick what he wanted for dinner and to have our pastor and his family over for a little birthday celebration last night. So what did we eat for dinner? Hot dogs!! And of course cupcakes for dessert.....although I think Austin actually ended up eating cupcakes for dinner...
Austin got a little shy while we were singing "Happy Birthday" to him...
Of course...the child hates pants...so how could I make him wear them on his birthday?! (Every time I ask him where they are he says, "They're tired.")...and it's just pants...he wore shorts all summer, but just like last winter, as soon as I started putting pants on him, he'd come running by at some point during the day without them. Anyway....here the birthday boy is blowing out his candles..
I think he approves of the cupcakes...
or at least the iciing....
And then I let him go ahead and open his present from us....Spiderman! I really had another present I wanted to get him for his birthday, but it didn't come in in time...so we had to do a little re-arranging with the Christmas and birthday presents. At least he's only 3 and has no idea....
And Pastor Ben, Mrs. Silvia, Joshua, and Ashley got him something so big they couldn't even wrap it! So Austin had to close his eyes while they brought it in....
A sled!!!! I think we will get LOTS of use out of this!!!
It turned out to be a really sweet evening! He told everyone he talked to on the phone before bed all about his green and orange sled and his Spiderman. He's so cute! Austin....we love you so much and are so proud of you! You are a crazy boy at times...and your mind thinks of EVERYTHING to get into, but we wouldn't trade one bit of you for anyone else! You are such a blessing to us and, Lord willing, we look forward to many more birthdays as we watch you grow up!
And one more thing.......this little boy got to do something exciting yesterday too....
This would be him waiting for the school bus! Yes...the SCHOOL BUS!! I cannot believe it. It was so hard to let him get on that bus, but he wanted to ride it sooo bad; and he does get to be on there with other kids from church. So...I gave in, and let him ride it. And he loved it. Ok...well that's all for now. Happy Rainy Tuesday!
