Welcome Back

Hi.  My name is Kammy.  And this is my blog.  Oh, wait...
So I've decided to start blogging again.  It is really hard to keep up with sometimes, but I just LOVE being able to look back over the last few years that I've blogged and see the sweet pictures of my babies and be reminded of some of the fun experiences we've had.  I guess my last post kinda caught everyone up on our current living situation...quick recap...we are still living in the first house we ever lived in as a married couple...back at our first church and are very much enjoying being back. I'll start this post though, by briefly catching you up on the major highlights of the last 8 months and then maybe I'll try to start blogging more regularly....
So in December both big boys had a birthday.  Austin turned 5 and Daniel turned 8.  They had a football party and got football outfits...

We had Christmas.  I got this GREAT snapshot of the kids in front of the tree at church.  Doesn't happen often that I get them all looking at the camera and actually smiling too!
.
We got snow twice.  This was the first one we had.  It happened overnight and was gone by noon.  The second one stayed around for quite awhile, but I'll explain why I don't have any pics of that later...
Peyton is super mobile now.  He can officially climb on the kitchen table now.  Always creates interesting days when that happens...
And now why we didn't play in the second big snow.  Our baby got his foot caught in the rotating brush on our vacuum cleaner.  It tore off several layers of skin off the bottom of his foot.  It was horrible.  After taking him to the ER and later to his pediatrician, we discovered that the foot was infected.  He developed a type of staff infection called MRSA.  So we headed down to LeBonheur Children's Hospital on completely ice and snow covered roads so little Peyton could be admitted to the hospital and receive IV antibiotics to heal his precious little baby foot.  He thankfully had just learned the word "NO" before we entered the hospital, so he got to use that word a lot while doctors and nurses poked and prodded his little arms and feet.  He wore the most adorable little baby boot for a week and a half so the foot could heal faster and the wound could close fully.  Now he's doing great and the foot is almost completely healed.
One day while we were at the hospital the big kids came to visit for awhile.  They did an art project while they were there...
So, those are the big highlights over the last few months.  Oh...I may have forgotten to mention that we decided to put the kids in school this year.  Daniel and Lily are in first and second grade at a local elementary school and Mondays and Wednesdays, Austin goes to a little church preschool.  So two days a week its just me and Peyton...but the other days its me and these two...
They love each other.  So there's our life!  The plan is to post more regularly from here on out.  We'll see.  :)

Wrestling

Daniel and Austin have been wrestling this winter.  It has been so incredibly adorable watching them.  And I might add, it is a very intense sport to watch.  I have about a million videos of each of the boys wrestling and maybe one day I'll post one, but it takes a very long time to post a video on here, so that will have to come later.

So far they have wrestled in 3 tournaments.  Now, mind you...these tournaments are ALL DAY LONG.  Like we get there around 6 or 7 in the morning and aren't done sometimes until 5 that evening.  But, the kids have done great being there all day!  At these tournaments, Austin has earned two 2nd place trophies and Daniel has earned one 3rd place trophy and one 4th place trophy.  They are so proud of them...
Lily wanted in on some of the action...

...and so am I.  They are mantle worthy (one is Daniel's baseball trophy)!

They will have one more tournament next weekend that they'll attend and then that will probably be it for the year.  It really has been so cute watching them out there, and watching them learn.  I'm so proud of my boys!

Wrestling!

Well...my little boys are wrestling!

I just cannot believe it!  It is so adorable...and the boys are SO excited about it!  So every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday night they take off to Southern Middle School for wrestling practice from 5:30-7.  (Which by the way...means we are eating dinner at 4:45...that's right...FOUR FORTY-FIVE!!)  Jason is helping to coach as well.  Daniel listens to the coach well and is very good at wrestling!  Austin is a beast.  He is used to wrestling Daniel and Jason...so now that he can finally wrestle someone that weighs the same as him...he kinda dominates.  :)  Anyway...it's pretty cute!  See for yourself...here's a little video of the boys...Enjoy!!

Shopping!!

Yesterday was a big day for the Heath family!! First of all little Daniel had his first big field trip to the ImagineOcean! It was a puppet show of ocean creatures done with black lights. Daniel was hilarious! All week he had been talking about this trip. His teacher had told the class they had to be at school about 20 minutes early, would not have time to eat breakfast at school, and needed to pack a lunch that day. Let me first say...that Daniel usually rides the bus to school (so he is usually already at school 20 minutes early), and about 95% of the time he takes his lunch to school. He does eat breakfast at school usually (it's free and he loves eating there), so out of her 3 instructions...only one altered his usual school schedule. However, Daniel felt it very necessary to remind us about each and every instruction. The night before he kept saying, "Daddy, we have to get up really early tomorrow, because I have to be at school early!!!" Jason kept asking, "Do you want me to take you to school?" He kept saying, "No, daddy...Ms. Spencer said she'll wait on the buses." It never dawned on him that Jason could get him there at the same time or before the buses. I didn't get much sleep the night before, so I was still in bed while he was getting ready. He came in almost 30 minutes early to hug me goodbye. It was so cute watching him be so anxious and excited about his big day. This time they said there was not enough space or tickets for parents to join, so I didn't get to go with him. However...Thursdays are Jason's day off, so we decided to take the other two kids and go on an adventure of our own! There is no mall in the city we live in...the closest mall is about 45 minutes away, but it's really small. So we decided to take a 2 hour trek to Hagerstown, MD to the big mall! Lily and Austin were super excited about going to the mall! Especially Lily...the night before Lily said.."I have a question. I need to buy some new clothes at the mall. The kind of clothes I want are like pretty dresses....and I also need to buy some shoes that I don't already have." We were sitting there wondering where the question was. That child is ALL girl! So needless to say, Wednesday night the kiddos were very eager to go to bed (for once)! Here are some of the shoes Lily thought were pretty...

And Austin found some he liked too...
However these shoes were at the Finish Line....which means they run about $45. That wasn't happening. I think we went into every shoe store in the mall. And every time Jason went into a store he liked Lily would say, "Can we just go into a girl store?" That child loves the mall....she even walked the entire time in time without complaining. At the end we found a little play place and let them play for a little while before lunch...
And then we had lunch.....
At LONGHORN!! Oh, yes! Wild West Shrimp as an appetizer (oh my word...YUM), salad with honey mustard dressing, loaded baked potato and grilled chicken with a stuffed portabella mushroom on top. Ok, so don't worry, I didn't clean my plate. And of course, we shared the appetizer. But I will say, one thing I LOVE about being pregnant, is not having to suck my tummy in after eating a big meal! :) Here is Austin waiting patiently for his mac-n-cheese and salad!
Their food came with some orange slices...they got a little silly with those...

And then while Jason got a few things at Lifeway, the kids and I decided to go to the beloved Target. We of course looked at clothes! And I looked at adorable baby clothes and thought before too long I will be buying something like this....
Or this.....
Oh my goodness, so cute. You would think clothes shopping would be boring for kids. But not Lily! Even Austin was super excited about a pair of shorts he wanted! Here is what our buggy looked like after about 5 minutes...
Yep..they are all "pretty dresses." Of course we were not buying all these dresses. I told Lily she could put them all in and then pick her favorite out of all of them to buy. And she did great! She was totally fine with putting all the other ones back. So a full day of shopping! Each boy got a superhero shirt and a pair of athletic shorts and Lily got a Hello Kitty shirt, a pair of shorts, and a little sun-dress. Daniel was super excited about what we brought him home...and he had a wonderful time on his field trip. It ended up being a very fun day...and we were all ready to crash when we got home (some more than others). :)

Meal Time

Hello! So before I blog about what I actually set out to...let me please just say....being pregnant is TIRING!! I need some energy people! It hasn't helped that my husband hasn't felt well either the last couple of days. Lots of laying on the couch going on around here and I am not proud of it! I have to keep reminding myself....it's only for a few weeks. Then I will get some energy again and my house can cease to look like a tornado came through....I hope. :)

Ok...so meal time. Meal times around this house are sometimes....well...not fun. Mostly due to a certain 3 year old who doesn't like to eat anything except pancakes, goldfish, or dessert. Little Austin has gotten very stubborn these days about not wanting to eat his meals. He usually ends up sitting at the lunch or dinner table for at least 30 to 40 minutes because he tries to play or just sits there and avoids eating. We have tried various things to make him eat....making him sit there until his plate is clean...setting a timer for them and they get in trouble if they don't finish when it runs out...no snacking. (He is not the only one we have trouble with...Lily can do this from time to time as well, but definitely not as bad). Anyway...you get the picture....it is a constant battle for us. Well today at lunch we went for the sit there until your plate is clean approach. And well....this is what we got...
I guess the little guy just gave up. Lily had finished well before him so he had no one to entertain him. I guess eating ranks higher on his "Do Not Like" list than nap time. However, if I must say so myself, that is one cute kid! I LOVE to look at them when they're asleep. And how better than when they fall asleep in such a funny position. Anyway....that's all for today!

Oh...and p.s. Austin is in his pj's at lunch time because he wears his pj's all day long. That's all he wants on when he is at home. He's always had such an opinion about what he likes to wear (you know...pj's, no pants....the norm).

Catch Up...Part 1

So, since we have finally gotten settled in and I am no longer in complete and utter overload with things to do....I have realized how many pictures I have on my camera that never got blogged about! Things like.....Lily's last week of Mother's Day Out...
It was Cowboy and Cowgirl day the day we brought in cookies for her little goodbye party...
She was quite the little host passing out all the cookies!
Then there was Daniel's last day of school. This was his sweet teacher from Dayton City School...
And all his friends hugging him goodbye......(I had a hard time choking down the tears during that part)...
And then there was Halloween.....Iron Man, Cinderella, and Captain America...
And THEN.....we got to see PAPPY!!! Pappy has been in Kuwait for 18 months!! And he got to come home for a visit right around the time we were moving, so we got to spend all day with him and Grandmaw before we went to visit my family and they flew out to Wyoming to see Jason's sister. Daniel was especially excited to see Pappy...
Silly boys....
So what better to do with Pappy than go to Chuckie Cheese (especially when all the other kids are in school so you basically have the whole place to yourselves)!!!
I got in the truck with Austin....he kept holding my leg to keep me from falling out...
Sweet girl....
So there are at least a few of the pictures I had every intention of blogging about but never had the time to until now! I still have more, but we'll save that for another day.
P.S. This is what my backyard looks like now.....

Happy Birthday Austin!

Well, my sweet little baby boy turned 3 yesterday. I simply can't believe it. Sometimes it feels like just yesterday he was born. Mostly I just can't believe my youngest child is 3. I don't have a child in diapers....no more cribs...no more baby stuff. Crazy! Where does the time go? Anyway, since we have Thanksgiving...one week later Austin's birthday....Christmas...and 3 days later Daniel's birthday....and we've just moved to a whole new state....we've decided to have wait until January to have a big birthday bash for Daniel and Austin together. However....with that being said...we couldn't just sit around and do nothing on his birthday! So we decided to let him pick what he wanted for dinner and to have our pastor and his family over for a little birthday celebration last night. So what did we eat for dinner? Hot dogs!! And of course cupcakes for dessert.....although I think Austin actually ended up eating cupcakes for dinner...
Austin got a little shy while we were singing "Happy Birthday" to him...
Of course...the child hates pants...so how could I make him wear them on his birthday?! (Every time I ask him where they are he says, "They're tired.")...and it's just pants...he wore shorts all summer, but just like last winter, as soon as I started putting pants on him, he'd come running by at some point during the day without them. Anyway....here the birthday boy is blowing out his candles..
I think he approves of the cupcakes...
or at least the iciing....
And then I let him go ahead and open his present from us....Spiderman! I really had another present I wanted to get him for his birthday, but it didn't come in in time...so we had to do a little re-arranging with the Christmas and birthday presents. At least he's only 3 and has no idea....
And Pastor Ben, Mrs. Silvia, Joshua, and Ashley got him something so big they couldn't even wrap it! So Austin had to close his eyes while they brought it in....
A sled!!!! I think we will get LOTS of use out of this!!!
It turned out to be a really sweet evening! He told everyone he talked to on the phone before bed all about his green and orange sled and his Spiderman. He's so cute! Austin....we love you so much and are so proud of you! You are a crazy boy at times...and your mind thinks of EVERYTHING to get into, but we wouldn't trade one bit of you for anyone else! You are such a blessing to us and, Lord willing, we look forward to many more birthdays as we watch you grow up!
And one more thing.......this little boy got to do something exciting yesterday too....
This would be him waiting for the school bus! Yes...the SCHOOL BUS!! I cannot believe it. It was so hard to let him get on that bus, but he wanted to ride it sooo bad; and he does get to be on there with other kids from church. So...I gave in, and let him ride it. And he loved it. Ok...well that's all for now. Happy Rainy Tuesday!

Puzzles and Sugary Goodness...Austin style.

Have I mentioned my youngest child in awhile....you remember, Conan?
(The helmet really belongs to the bear....he likes football). Anyway...well it's been a good couple of weeks since I've felt the need to blog about his mischieviousness. In other words...I was long overdue for a day like Wednesday. While I was taking just a few minutes on the computer, I look down and find this....
This would be almost every puzzle piece of every puzzle we own.....all poured out and mixed up together. That was fun. So, then while I am taking about an hour to sort every puzzle piece out.....basically having to work almost every puzzle to figure out what pieces go to what puzzle, I turn around to look in the kitchen and find this...
Yeah....that's sugar. The picture doesn't even come close to doing it justice. He had sugar in his hair, in his shoes, in his diaper (which btw...I think as of today we are finally out of..whoo hoo!)....and not to mention as you can see all over the counter and floor.
That almost grasps how much sugar we were dealing with here.....but still doesn't do it justice. That child is something else. It's a good thing he's so cute and funny!
And I just thought I'd throw this one in there from a couple of weeks ago, b/c its so funny. He loves him some football!!
