Thirty

Thirty.  That's what I am now.  I just don't know what to think about it!  On the one hand I feel so old!  My twenties were some good times and hold some priceless memories.  I can't believe that time in my life is over.  But on the other hand, thirty doesn't feel near as old as I always thought it was.  And thirty has a level of wisdom and experience that I'm so happy to have (please do not mistake this for me thinking I am the epitome of wisdom or have learned anywhere close to everything I need to know...that is not at all what I mean...I still have a long way to go).  But I am so very thankful for the life lessons I've learned through my twenties and I pray that God will help me to use that wisdom for His glory through my thirties...all the while learning even more this decade!
My 30th birthday was wonderful.  I had a perfectly relaxing day with my hubby doing some of the things I love the most...

It began with a lunch date at Benihana followed by a movie...Man of Steel (thanks to my sister and her in-laws for entertaining our kids all day) .  Yes I realize it was my birthday and not Jason's.  One thing I have totally learned about myself...when it comes to movies...I'm not much of a chick-flick movie kinda gal.  My favorite kind of movies are action packed and suspenseful.  I am NOT talking about movies like The Matrix or The Fast and the Furious (or any of their sequels).  I am talking about movies like The Bourne Identity or Oceans 11 (or any of their sequels).  Saying all that to say...Man of Steel was right up my alley and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Then we did a little leisurely shopping and headed back to my parents' house to meet up with our children and some family for pizza and cake!  My mom made the cake homemade and it is absolutely the best cake you will ever put in your mouth.  Usually, I'd rather have a homemade chocolate chip cookie or a brownie over cake any day, but not this cake.  This cake is the best.  The kids gathered to sing happy birthday, so we had them smile for a picture.  They got a little carried away saying cheese...

So the day was great!  I'd say a perfect entrance to my thirties!

GO VOLS!!

Guess where we got to go Saturday?!
You guessed it!! Tennessee v.s. Cincinatti....14th row....yup, that was us!!!
There are some very nice people at our church that have UT season tickets on the 14th row....with padded seats...in the shade...jumbo-tron directly in front of them....you get the idea...they were GREAT seats! Anyway, Mr. Denton came to Jason early last week and asked him if we would like to use their tickets Saturday since they couldn't go. And considering my husband is a die hard football fan...especially when it comes to the Volunteers (and I really like football too)....he accepted the generous offer. AND, we got an afternoon/evening away to ourselves after our very emotional couple of weeks (I actually ended up having a tubal pregnancy...long story).
TOUCHDOWN!!! Anyway, we had a blast! We love Tennessee football! And we just can't thank the Denton's enough for letting us use their tickets! :)

Party Night.....Date Night.

Hello blog friends! It has been some time since I have blogged. And...I still have no pictures for you! BUT...hopefully tonight I will get to blog some about the fun things we've done the last few weeks since I am going to my inlaws (where there is high speed internet). BUT, the most exciting thing about me going to my inlaws this evening is that...........we are leaving our children there! See, my mother-in-law and my kids have these "parties" occasionally. They pretty much consist of them spending the night with her, eating endless amounts of sugar and popcorn, and having no bedtime....pretty much every kid's dream. They get soooo excited when it's time for a sleepover at Grandmaw's (or as Lily has begun to call them...party-overs). So anyway, last night when Grandmaw invited them to spend the night, of course they screamed "YEAH!" And then they proceded to tell Jason and I that we were not allowed to come; and that we had to go to bed early. Needless to say, we are devestated. We may even punish ourselves more and sleep in tomorrow morning. So really, the more I am thinking about it...I may not be blogging til tomorrow morning (or lunchtime.....or afternoon) when we pick the kids up. I think we may be out of there before I'll have time to blog. Date night has been waiting for us for far too long this time. We usually try to have a date night fairly regularly, but lately we have been so busy that we haven't. So, all you couples out there....send your kids to their grandparents and go out on a date! It's fun for everyone!
