Wrestling!

Well...my little boys are wrestling!

I just cannot believe it!  It is so adorable...and the boys are SO excited about it!  So every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday night they take off to Southern Middle School for wrestling practice from 5:30-7.  (Which by the way...means we are eating dinner at 4:45...that's right...FOUR FORTY-FIVE!!)  Jason is helping to coach as well.  Daniel listens to the coach well and is very good at wrestling!  Austin is a beast.  He is used to wrestling Daniel and Jason...so now that he can finally wrestle someone that weighs the same as him...he kinda dominates.  :)  Anyway...it's pretty cute!  See for yourself...here's a little video of the boys...Enjoy!!

Thanksgiving Day

Well, traditionally we always spend Thanksgiving with either Jason's family or my family.  But this year, we weren't able to make the long trek to Tennessee.  We really missed our family a bunch!  But we were so incredibly thankful to get to spend the day with some of our good friends, the Spurrier's!  They don't have their family very close either, so they invited us to come spend the day with them, and it was lovely!  We started the morning off at CVS and Walgreens...isn't that how everyone spends Thanksgiving morning? :)  We were serious about getting some deals...we waited outside for them to open!

 The man you see with the newspaper over his face will remain nameless...he was our bouncer. :)  Don't judge him...he wanted some deals on some toilet paper too! :)  We had fun.
After Walgreens, we headed to our own homes and finished up our last minute cooking.  I had a blast cooking for Thanksgiving this year.  Usually, my mom and aunts, or Jason's mom cooks (depending on whose family we are with of course).  I've decided that I am going to cook at least something next time we spend it with our families!  So around One-ish, we got the kiddos together and headed over to the Spurrier's for Thanksgiving lunch.  This was our feast...

We had a good ole' time!  After we ate we relaxed for a bit and then around 5:30, Debra and I (along with her sweet daughter Madison) met up with another one of our friends and hit the stores for some Black Friday shopping.  We had a good ole' time waiting in some lines and getting some good deals!  All in all, I'd say Thanksgiving was a success!  A huge thank you again to the Spurrier's for having us over and spending the day with us!  Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving too!

Movie Party Night

Well, movie party night is underway at the Heath household!  Yesterday while we were at Walmart, Jason let each of the kids pick out a movie...

 We watched Scooby Doo this afternoon, Brave while we were waiting for dinner, and now are watching the Avengers (might I add, that Daniel is sssuuuuper stoked he's getting to watch the REAL Avengers...Jason previewed it and said he could see this one).  The kids LOVE when we have parties together!  We ordered in a pizza...

 And Jason got some goodies from across the street.  It may be a little overboard, but hey...you don't have movie party night every night!  AND...I'd be lying if I didn't say the parents are most definitely enjoying the treats as well...(especially the mommy)!

 Jason and I will occasionally treat ourselves to the bottled root beer...its so much better than any other kind.  Often times the kids ask for them and usually, (b/c they are expensive, they never drink the whole thing, and b/c I get stingy with my treats), we say no.  So tonight, for movie party night...root beer was on the list....as well as chips and salsa, and a boat load of candy.  :)

 They are so excited!  Peyton is especially enjoying himself...

Such a doll.  All of them are!  I love my little kids and our sweet family!  Ok, now back to the movie!  Iron Man and Thor are fighting...what's up with that?  I've gotta catch up...but that's ok...Jason loves it when I ask a bunch of questions during a movie. :)  Good night all!

Hurricane Sandy

Monday October 29th was the beginning of a storm that many will never forget.  It brought an average of 2 feet of snow and a ton of wind here to Garrett county...causing tons of down trees and power lines and leaving thousands of people without power...many for over a week!  Now we were told when we moved here that snow was something we needed to get used to (even though last winter we hardly had any).  But this was one of the worst storms(if not THE worst storm) many people in our church have ever seen.  It's not the amount of snow we got that made it so bad, but the type of snow.  Two feet of dry snow is nothing for Garrett County, but two feet of wet, heavy snow is another story.  That is what caused so many trees to fall.  The first day we were actually able to get out, it looked like a tornado had come through.  No houses were destroyed that I know of, but trees were snapped in half and power lines were laying on the ground everywhere!  We were expecting a bad storm so we spent the majority of the morning Monday morning washing clothes and dishes, cleaning bathrooms, stocking up on groceries, and running a few errands.  Then, we randomly decided to run to Cumberland, MD (about an hour closer to the coast) quickly to grab a few things we needed since our blizzard warning didn't begin until 6 that evening.  Well, we took our sweet time since we left after right after lunch, and went into Walmart there and strolled through the mall.  Well when we decided to leave it was time to feed Peyton, so as I was feeding him in the car, Jason and I were piddling on Facebook.  We noticed several people posting that it was already snowing in Garrett County!  So hurried to finish feeding the baby and we began to high-tail it back home!  We made it fine, but as soon as we got home we began to finish our storm preparations.  We stacked a bunch of wood inside for our wood stove, finished the laundry, and filled up our bathtub and a 20 gallon storage tub full of water.  (We were anticipating power outages and we're on well water, so without power we also have no running water).  Well the snow fell...and many lost power Monday evening....and didn't get it back until the following Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.  We were blessed and didn't loose power until Wednesday around noon and got it back that night around midnight.  But we were able to offer our shower, washer/dryer, and warm meals to any without....so that was fun!
Anyway...I also thought I'd share a few pictures of our storm...a few are pics others posted on Facebook, so I hope none of you mind that I stole them! :)

 Now although the amount of snow was not a surprise to those who have lived here awhile, it was quite a surprise for those of us who have only lived here a year and moved from Tennessee...where 8 inches of snow is a good winter! :)  So Tuesday we bundled up and went out in the cold and wind for a little while to play...

It was quite a storm.  As I'm writing this going on two weeks later there is still a lot of snow on the ground!  We are starting to see grass in some places, but I imagine the big piles of snow created by the snow plows will be around for a good while!  We sure appreciate the many of you back in Tennessee who were praying for us during the storm!  I think we weathered our first blizzard pretty well...and I'm thankful that many who had it much harder than we did are now back to normal as well!

Two Months Old

Well goodness.  Maybe one of these days I'll keep up with this thing like I want to.
Peyton was 2 months old on October 29th.  Ok, confession...this was taken on the 31st...but to my defense...we were preparing for the biggest snowstorm of our lives thus far on the 29th.

 And this was taken a little before the 29th but I wanted you to see the precious smile...

 And this was just taken last night, but I wanted to include it too because...well...do I really have to explain this one? 

I mean really...does it get more adorable?
So here's a little about Peyton at 2 months...
-He weighed 12lbs even and was 23 1/2 inches long at his 2 month checkup.
-He is smiling!  And it's absolutely adorable.
-He is usually sleeping a good 6 hour stretch at night...but every now and then I'll get 8 hours (he recently slept 8 hours 3 nights in a row, and I thought I was home free....but no such luck).
-He loves to be held and talked to.
-He still loves his bottom patted...especially to go to sleep...(while I still put him to sleep myself that way....b/c I love it so much...I have been making myself let him cry himself to sleep some too).
-He absolutely LOVES going for walks in the stroller.
-He loves baths.
-He hates putting lotion on after a bath.
-When he's held he grabs onto your shoulder or neck.  He really just opens and closes his fist a lot, but its still really cute b/c it feels like he's holding on.
-He spits up a lot and has recently started drooling a lot as well.
-And...I really really think this will finally be my brown-eyed baby!  He's still hanging in there as a blue, but barely.  His eyes are much darker than the other 3 kids' ever were.  (For those who don't know, I have brown eyes and Jason has blue eyes.  All 3 of our other kids have blue eyes.  So I'm slightly hoping I can have at least one child who has my brown eyes).
And I guess that's about it....other than the fact that he truly is such a precious, adorable baby.  The kids are absolutely in love with him...and quite frankly the parents are too!  I love that we had our first 3 kids so close together...I love watching them play and interact together and I love how close they are.  But I also love that I got to take a little break from the baby stage for awhile before Peyton came along.  I feel like I can really appreciate him and enjoy having a baby and all that it entails.  Does life get a little crazy sometimes?  Um..yeah.  Just ask my husband what kind of day yesterday was.  But I love it...and I wouldn't trade it for anything!  So....saying all that to say...Happy 2 months of life Peyton Jay!!  You sure are loved!!

Kindergarten Field Trip

Remember how we went on Daniel's field trip with him to the corn maze?  Well, yesterday it was Lily's turn to go.  We had a ball...again.  Lily was so excited we came with her!  I dread the days when the kids will be embarrassed to have us tag along on their school functions.  I keep holding on to hope that it will never happen...I mean there are some middle and high school kids that aren't embarrassed by their parents, right?  And I mean, hey...when you've got parents like us...what's to be embarrassed about ya know? (You don't have to answer that). :)  ANYWAY...on with the field trip.  Lily has a sweet little friend named Shyanna (I probably butchered the spelling of her sweet name) who has glasses just like her!  Her parents didn't get to come, so she hung out with us the whole day.  These two seem like 2 peas in a pod....and can I also say...I didn't realize it was possible for a little girl to be more petite than Lily...well it is...

 Daddy and Austin sporting their Brazil-wear.  (Are you reading Airton??).  Also...this is Austin's favorite shirt.  The people at church often ask me if he even has any other shirts.  We may as well not.  If it wasn't for his adorable face when he sees that shirt come out of the wash (even though it is so stained it never looks washed)..I think I may throw it away (no offense Airton) :)

 Ok so continuing with the field trip....one of the girls in Lily's class found a caterpillar and let Austin hold it for a minute.  He loves holding worms and caterpillars...

 It was such a fun day!  We did the hay ride, the playground, the bike track, the corn maze, and saw all the animals.  Lily also (like Daniel) didn't want to have anything to do with milking the cow.  She did however love feeding the sheep and baby cows.  It was such a fun day.  I am so thankful that we've gotten to go on these field trips with our kids!  (And btw...I mentioned in the post about Daniel's that I hoped we'd have warmer weather at Lily's...well we did!  It was a beautiful day).  And I'm also thankful that this little smiling angel was so good all day!!

It really was a great day!!

First Grade Field Trip

Today Daniel's first grade class went on a field trip to the corn maze.  Originally just Jason was going to go with him, but this morning me and the boys decided we were going to join them as well (since we were allowed to go).  I am so glad we went!  It was a pretty windy, making it really chilly, but we bundled up little Peyton in some warm clothes and stuck him in the baby backpack with a blanket around him and he was snug as a bug in a rug!  I think he was the warmest one!  Anyway...we had so much fun getting to go with Daniel and his class!  First, we saw all the animals.  Check out this big ole' fat cow!

 The picture didn't truly capture it's big-ness.  I think the highlight of seeing the cows was when they pooped or peed...as you can imagine, the first graders thought that was pretty hilarious.  Some of the kids got to milk the cows, but Daniel didn't want to.  They liked feeding the sheep the hay...Daniel especially liked to throw the hay on the sheep...

 And these little bikes and some tractors that raced around a track.  Austin absolutely loved these bikes.  During playground time he kept disappearing...and I'd always find him here...

After we played on the playground we got to ride on a hayride, eat lunch, and then go through the corn maze.  I was too cold and squished to take pictures on the hay ride.  And I really don't know why I didn't get pictures during the corn maze.  But anyway...all in all it was a super fun day.  And certainly a change in scenery for me and the two little boys!  Lily's class will come in a few weeks so we are looking forward to that....and also hoping for an unseasonably warm day that day!  Happy Fall Y'all!
